Ignatius Fong Obituary
61 of Phoenix Arizona, passed away on March 30, 2013. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on both Wednesday April 3 and Thursday April 4, 2013, Rosary both days at 7pm at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W Beardsley Rd. Funeral Mass will be at Friday at 10am at St Jerome Catholic Church,10815 N 35th Ave, Phoenix. Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Ignatius, Old friend I pray your soul is with the Lord and you find peace & no more hurt or pain. I remember the very good times we had in Nogales and Tucson. Your smile and good nature always is what I remember best about you.

Ignatius
I have known you since 1970 and although we have not seen each other in years I still remember to good times we had in Tucson and Nogales. My prayers are for your soul to be in heaven with the Lord. It was my pleasure to get to know Mr. Fong on the phone for the time we were able to talk together. He was always an optimistic person, dedicated to his family and fighting this disease. He is at peace now, but I know he fought as hard as he could to stay with you. He spoke lovingly of all of you in our talks together. I know how much you will miss him. He was a great man.

I cannot begin to recount all the great memories I have of Mr. Ignatius Fong and his family. The Fongs were our first friends when me moved here from Ohio in 1985. Ignatius was my golf partner and he and Mercy helped us by watching our children in 1985. Ignatius was always kind, never cross.
Ignatius left our work environment in 1987 and I tried to convince him to come back by talking to his father in Nogales in 1987.
Unfortunately he refused at that time. Luckily, he did come back to work with us in the mid 90's.
He was a true gentleman. He only accepted great work from himself. He made an impact on anyone he came in touch with.
In the last year I was lucky enough to reacquaint myself with Ignatius, Mercedes, Jonathan, and Dominic. It was my gain as I learned the entire family lived by Ignatius' rules.
Ignatius you will be sorely missed.

Iggy was one of the most kind, polite and gracious guys I have ever known. His humor was so interesting. Our firm worked with Iggy for many years and He was always so very pleasant and wanted so much to get things right. I missed him when he retired. God bless Iggy and his family and friends. I was pleased and it was an honor to have Iggy as a friend.

It was my pleasure to work, if for only a few years, with Ignatius. Everytime we would talk at church the memories of how nice and kind a man can be would fill my soul. It was an honor to know him, I thank God for our association.

I will so miss seeing Ignatius in the clinic. His smiled always warmed my heart. No matter how he was feeling he always had that smile on his face and in his eyes. Like the poem above says...he has been set free. I am sorry for your loss and will hope that happy memories will help get you through this sad time.
