James Burnett Obituary
Mesa, AZ. James, the only son of Ivory and Theophilus was born on Sept. 16, 1937 in Crockett, Texas. On June 20, 1960 , James married Emma Jean Akins; he served in the Army Reserves for four years. James was a licensed barber and employed at William Air Force Base for 13 years. After leaving the base, James worked at the Safeway Distribution Center as a warehouse supervisor until his retirement in 1995. James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Emma, daughters, Vickie Woods and Ivory McConnell; sons, James Jr, Anthony "Andy"; 5 grandchildren, Chaz Scott, Shavonne and Tabitha Burnett, Courtney and Cameron McConnell; 2 great-grandchildren, Cierrah and Chaz Scott. Preceding James in death are his parents, Ivory and Theophilus and daughter, Andrea. Visitation will be 9-11 AM on Sat., Dec. 23, 2006 at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 473 S. Colorado St., Chandler, AZ. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the City of Mesa Cemetery.
