To my loving Great Grandpa. I will always remember all the sweet things you said to me, and the greatest thing of all is when you gave me your car so I could have a way to go to college. You always called me your little Sarah and I will never forget that. I love you Great Grandpa. Love your great grand daughter Sarah

The best memory I will ever have with my grandfather will be the time I spent with him before he passed away. I was blessed with getting time with him in the hospital and I will never forget when he laid there and said, "Yvette.I want to sing Amazing Grace and I want you to sing it with me..so I sang it by myself first, then he sang it for me and I videotaped it. That will be the most unforgettable moment of my life..but I know he's looking down on me now as my guardian angel. I love you, Grandpa. Love, your grandaughter Yvette

My favotite memories of my Grandpa are taking him out to visit his friends about town, driving around Sun City, going to the Waffle House for breakfast where he'd flirt with the waitresses, and listening to him play his harmonica for everyone wherever we went. He also taught me numerous plumbing trips.

Some of my best memories with my dad was attending his favorite quartet music groups; riding with him in the Chevy down the railroad tracks; listening to him play his harmonic in a talent contest along the San Antonio “river walk” and winning first place; sometimes figuring out a puzzle before he did; his jokes; raising me on Mexican food and letting me eat more hot chilies than he could or would; passing on to me his love for jalapenos, sauerkraut and grapefruit; appreciating his correct use of the English language; letting me work on his newly purchased Model A Ford and teaching me how to drive in it; that he did not complain, even in his last hours; that he often told me that he loved me, especially in his later years; and the fact that he always remembered my birthday and sent me a card even when he could barely write.

When Grandpa Menne came to visit he always had a bag full of funny gifts to share. Probably things he bought just because they were a good deal or something. For our wedding gift he gave Jeff and I this silver ware set (probably pretty cheap) that was clever in that the utensils all hung on a little rack. They were perfect for our first kitchen that was super tiny and didn't have any drawers. We have lost the rack, many of the utensils have been used as play doh toys or what not, but we still use the bigger "soup" spoons to stir things and serve ice cream if the ice cream scoop is dirty. I think I will hold on to them indefinitely just to remember him by.

Dear Aunt Sarah,
Though I didn't know your Dad, he sounds like a wonderful Christian father. I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.

Dad, you always amazed me with your knowledge of all that go's on in this world we still live in, I'm sure your knowledge will be of great pleasure to the angels were you are now resting with our Lord. Being a plumber myself, I always enjoyed your stories about your work as a plumber in the old days as the plumbing technologies were so different in those days compared to now. I will always remember your brain games of knowledge and memory skills that you would give us to try and solve; one in particular was the simple Cast Metal Magic Loops Brain Teaser Puzzle that you could solve in 3 seconds but took me 10 minuets to solve. As a reminder to you, one of the traits you have will always be with the family, your ability to scarf down dozens of extremely HOT peppers and not shed a tear has now been passed onto your grandson Chucky, he can put you to shame with his extraordinary ability to also scarf down the hottest, and I mean HOT, HOT peppers and also not shed a tear! May you now rest with the Lord in eternal peace.

Dad, I love you and will miss your stories of my mischievous ways, such as "helping" out the family car by putting water in the gas tank. I also enjoyed your harmonica playing and your keen knowledge of facts. It was a blast celebrating your 90th birthday with all the family at one of your favorite places--Big Apple! I may not have liked the licorice and sour kraut like you did, leading to "your disowning me--hah-hah!", but I know you loved me as a son and may you now rest with the Lord in eternal peace.

I had the pleasure of knowing James for many years as he was part of my team at the Federal Building. He was a great person. I was saddened to hear of his passing; but know we will meet again someday when Christ returns.

He played harmonic at our wedding. Now he is with my husband, Ron Cummings. Jim was a great guy. I am so glad that he knew the Lord. Ron did too in his last year he drew near to Jesus. Ron was probably waiting to surprise him as Ron and Jim were both filled with humor.

I do not remember Uncle James much, but I wish I had visited him with my mother (Betty Menne) before she passed, She would have loved that.
I hope all of you are comforted by the Holy Spirit of God and may your memories of Uncle James fill your hearts and minds with comfort and remember that someday you will see him again. Steven R. Menne, Florence, Alabama.

Your father is celebrating his going home, and enjoying his new GLORIOUS Body Jesus just gave him. May you, his family, while waiting until the glorious day you join him, pull on the multitude of memories of a life spent with dad. Please know that you are not alone and that you are in my prayers.

I love you, "Popsie." We miss you, your upbeat attitude, your sweet smile, and your harmonica but we look forward to reuniting in Heaven one day. I smile every time the little cuckoo clock plays a tune - the one that was broken and began working again the day you went to be with Jesus. Thank you for being my daddy. Your "Princess" forever.
