James Shields Obituary

James Edward Shields - Gov't Computer Analyst and member of Natural Arch and Bridge Society, dies at 69. A native of Los Angeles and a resident of AZ for the past 6 years, passed away Sept, 23, 2007 at the age of 69. He was born August 12, 1938 in Los Angeles, the son of Harry Shields and Irene Kleinkauf. Jim grew up and attended school in Los Angeles, graduating from Pepperdine University in 1961. He met the last love of his life and best friend in the summer of 1998. The couple got married in 2001 in Las Vegas. The couple moved to AZ in March 2002. Worked for City of Los Angeles for 30 yrs. and retired March 2001 and had received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy. He loved to play tennis, hike, take amazing photographs. He is survived by his wife Erlinda Shields of AZ, daughter Lynda Simmons and husband Dave and grandchildren Spencer, Cameron and Leyton of North Hills, Ca. Brother Chuck and wife Elle Shields, Brother Hal & wife Rita Shields of Visalia, Ca. Stepson Nelson Bautista and stepdaughter Lindsay Bautista of Carlsbad, Ca., stepson Vince Shields of North Hills, Ca. and stepdaughter Lori Corbett of Las Vegas, Nevada and his best friends Larry & Fran Bouchez of Manhattan Beach, Ca. Burial is private. Memorial services are pending.
