Jean Schoenecker Obituary

Schoenecker (Seip), Jean Carolyn
Jean passed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ at sunrise, June 26, 2010 at the age of 86. She was born on November 29, 1923 to Alva and Margaret Seip in Brillion, Wisconsin. While attending Brillion High School, Jean met the love of her life, Howard J. Schoenecker. During WWII, Jean received her nursing degree from Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, beginning her career as a head surgical nurse. Jean and Howard were married April 12, 1945 in their hometown of Brillion following Howard's return from military duty in the Philippines. A parade was held in the newlyweds honor. Jean continued to work and put her husband through college. Upon his gradua
tion from Northwestern, Jean retired from nursing to raise 3 children in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Jean was an active member of her church, teaching Sunday school for many years in Brillion and Hoffman Estates and a member of the Hoffman Estates Nursing Club. In the summer of 1968, Motorola brought the family to the Scottsdale Arcadia district. Jean continued to do volunteer work with the Arizona Heart Foundation. With laughter and unconditional love for her family, Jean persevered through multiple health issues to become the ultimate wife, mother, grandmother and friend. To say Jean was talented would be an understatement. An avid bridge player, an artist painting oils of Arizona landscapes, master gardener, seamstress, and could she work a kitchen. Let's just say Mom could give both Julia and Martha a run for their money. Jean was predeceased by her parents, husband Howard and sisters Margaret Jentink and Audrey Ainsworth. Jean is survived by her children, Susan Schoenecker, Nancy Paisley (Corey), Tim Schoenecker (Kristi), grandchildren Justin, Jessica, Sienna, Shanti, and Kyle. The family would like to thank and honor Samica Bordas for the care and love she showed Jean in her final years. To know Jean was to love her. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Shepherd of the Hills Congregational Church, 5524 E. Lafayette Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85018, with a reception immediately following. Donations may be made to The Arizona Heart Foundation, 1910 E. Thomas Rd. #220, Phoenix, AZ 85016 or to Shepherd of the Hills Congregational Church.
