Jimmy Detterline Obituary
age 50 of Buckeye, AZ, left this world at his home on January 6, 2009, following a courageous battle with Congestive Heart Failure, and COPD. Jimmy was born in San Jose, CA, October 11, 1958 to Ray Detterline and the late Sharon Detterline Lincoln. Jimmy loved and was fantastic at all sports. He played baseball, bowled, fished, and hunted. He bowled a perfect 300 game and an 800 series. He got a bull elk on his first outing last year. Jimmy loved all children; he enjoyed teaching and playing sports with them especially all his nieces and nephews. Jimmy leaves behind his spiritual soul mate, Paulette Sisson; his father, Ray Detterline; stepmother, Rose Detterline; three sisters, Becky Ricci Castro of Fremont, CA, Donna James of Concordia, KS, and Dori Stefani of Ben Lomond, CA. He also leaves behind two sons, Christopher and Jonathan, and two daughters, Noel and Tiffany. A celebration to remember and commemorate Jimmy's life will be held at noon on January 17, 2009 at 10401 W. Desert Rock Dr., Sun City. Arrangements entrusted with Advantage Golden Door Chapel, Youngtown, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cornerstone Hospice, 7310 N. 16th St., Ste #230, Phoenix, AZ 85020, 602-263-0925.

Dearest Jimmy,
A piece of my heart went with you when you left us. I was so fortunate to have you in my life. When I first met you 25 years ago, you were such a wild child. Even then I could see the kindness in your eyes. I could see how much you loved you Dad and the way you talked about your sister I knew how much you loved them too. When you came to live with your Dad and I it was an experience, but I loved every minute of it. The first time you called me Mom, you were teasing me, because I had been trying to get you to pick up your room. After that day you never called me anything else. I was so touched, I still can't put into words how happy it made me. I miss you, but am glad that you are no longer hurting, and have to struggle so hard to breathe. I am sure you are in heaven watching over all of us. I love you and will be waiting to see you again.

To My Wonderful Brother,
I love you and miss you so very much. There are no words to describe what or how I'm feeling since you passed away. I just want to pick up the phone and call but I can't so I cry. I have your picture on my phone so I can talk to you and put your sweat shirt on when I need a hug. As we grew up life was not easy but we always had each other to count on to get us through. My dear sweet brother you are now in a place where no one or anything can hurt you anymore, finally at peace no more struggling to breathe or hurting. You were a very special man with a big heart and lots of love to give, I was one of the fortunate ones to have been apart of your life and you will always hold a special place in mine. I miss you and love you more than words could ever say. I want say thank you to Paulette for loving my brother so very much and making his last years the best he ever had. Even when he got so sick you stayed by him through everything and never left his side. He was truly happy and he loved you so very much. Thank You.

As a mother who lost a child I know what you are going through. Just remember you watched over him from a little boy to a wonderful man. Now its his turn to watch over you. To my brother, who I love so much I find it hard to find the words to express how much I will miss you. When I can not believe that you are truly gone. To Paulette and Family, look to the Lord for his strenghth from this time forward. He will be there for you just as He is there for Jimmy right now. We only met Jimmy once, and what a fun time that was. It was New Years Eve starting 2002. Paulette and Jimmy spent the evening with us. Since that time after we moved, Jimmy was always so good about calling and telling a joke, talking about what he had done that day or just to say "HI". We will miss his voice and his laughter......forever laughing. What a kind and loving person. He was so lucky to have a loving and caring wife as Paulette. They took good care of each other. We are greatly saddened to hear of your passing. You were and still are a wonderful man. You were always there joking and smiling. My girls always enjoyed seeing you around to play and joke with them. Bowling was never the same and will never be the same with you gone. To a wonderful man that had the biggest heart of all. Jimmy you will be missed very much. You where a uncle to my children and they will alway remember you as we will to. Uncle Jimmy, I had the most wonderful time in Arizona with you! Going to Cabella's, IHop, and Redlobster it was awsome and at grandpas house we hung out, talked and most important laughed. I Really loved your laugh it brightend me up more than life its self! Thank you so much fo the softball glove you gave to me along with your shoes and bag also your batting gloves. Dad, you were the best dad in the whole world. Im happy your in a better place now and your not hurting anymore. I miss you so much. Its hard to think that your actually gone. I look back on all the good times we had and it hurts really bad to lose a dad at the age of 15 and i miss you alot, but im glad your in a better place where you dont have to fight to breath and go through all the pain and misery you were in. To the Detterline Family and Paulette, We are so saddened of Jimmy's passing. We are new members of Becky's family since she married our son, Randy. In the short time we've known him we've felt close and liked by Jimmy. When Becky and Randy got married in Reno, where we first met Becky's family, Jimmy took to to us all right off the bat. He made us feel welcome and like we were family all along. He was a very likable person. He seemed happy although he wasn't in the best of health when we met him. He was very good to our grandchildren, talked with them and took an interest in them. Although his life was cut short so soon, he is resting now with no pain and suffering. We look forward to seeing him again in the resurrection to life on earth in the new world.

Really enjoyed bowling with Jimmy. He was such a fun person. had a very infectious laugh. He always seemed to enjoy life, sadly it was a short life for him. I hope he and Mike are having a good time with each other.
