I remember Joe Vasquez. He was a good friend and teammate at Eastern Arizona and Western New Mexico of my cousin Eddie Castaneda. I also played basketball against him and the Superior Panthers in a tournament in Superior in 1956. Joe and his brother Fidi were very good basketball players for Superior.

Joe, not even two years has passed since our brother Cheffie passed away.. We saw you at his service and remembered you two were great friends, football was where you both played and had a great team.. Now you both have walked onto Jesus' garden where all of you will meet someday...both of you are in Jesus hands now and couldn't be in a better place.. they say Heaven is so beautiful with no more pain or death.. Go in peace Joe... God Bless your love ones who stay here in grief your memories will live in their hearts and see you again someday..

The Broken Chain

"We little knew that morning
that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again."
