John Sanborne Obituary

Sanborne, John
Passed away peacefully at age 85 on June 5, 2011. John was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was born in Hackensack, NJ in 1925. A Princeton graduate in electrical engineering on the GI Bill for his service in the U.S. Army in WWII, he was hired by a small company by the name of Motorola in their radio division. Eager for the adventure of the West, John, his wife and 11 month old baby moved from Ohio to Phoenix in 1955. A gentleman and sincere family man, John gave strength intelligence, humor and sweetness to every situation. He is survived by his loving wife Anne, daughter Jill, son David (wife Sheri), daughter Chris Zapatka (husband Dan) and five grandsons. Andrew, Scott, Kyle, Beau and Charlie, and sister Mandy Krieble (husband Jim). He leaves a legacy as a hiker and nature lover, watercolor artist, preferred Trivial Pursuit partner and music lover. John's old-fashioned brand of love and gentleness will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary.

Jill & Family,
I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet John and see his beautiful paintings throughout your home. What a delightful personality, and I enjoyed learning of some of his adventures in life. My sympathy to all of you.

Our hearts go out to Anne and the family. We shared some truly fun times and had a lot of laughs. All those who knew John are definitely the better for it. John has gone ahead to mark the trails for the rest of us! God Bless.
Love & Peace,
Claudia & Bill

We met John and Anne in the Grand Canyon backpacking the Hermit Trail back in the early 70's. Many good times followed.
Our sympathy goes out to the family.

My sincere condolences to the Sanborne family. Our families spent alot of time together when we were growing up and my parents (Jim & Rosemary Reany) really cherished their friendship with John and Anne (Anne, you and John always cheered me up and I can't think of two nicer people!). My parents have since passed on but on behalf of the 'Reany kids', know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
