I was randomly doing a search for Tang's Imports to see if it would lead to any old friends, and indeed it did. I didn't know that John had passed away. We worked together at the 20th St. Tang's in the 70's--I was his night manager and then he flexed his schedule so that I could practice in the evenings with a band that I had joined. He didn't have to do that, but he had a generous heart and really cared about people.

What a great guy. The world is definitely a poorer place without Johnny. He always had a ready smile and an encouraging word. I wish we had reconnected before his death. It was an honor to know him.

Johnny – the last time we saw each were at dim sum, 2007 and you still look the same friendly, funny which make you a kind, and gentle person.

When we were younger we often come to your parents' home and play with you and your brothers and sisters – I still remember the time when we collected soda caps, the prize was a bicycle, and lost by ½ pound.. I will always cherish this moment of time.

May God bless you and you rest in peace; our prayers and condolences to your family.

Jeanna and Tang Family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of John's sudden passing. My sympathies to you all for such a great loss.

John was a very kind, thoughtful gentleman and a good friend. I had the pleasure of working with him in the mid-80s when Purchasing was Materials Management. John brought a daily dose of humor to the workplace and introduced me to dim sum. I will always remember the Baskin Robbins ice cream cake he brought to the office for my 21st birthday, and the great appreciation we shared for the "Boss" (Bruce Springsteen). So many good memories; John will be truly missed.

Your kindness and generosity were unsurpassed! I know that you will continue to watch over all your loved ones from heaven. We are so very saddened to hear the loss of John. Your loss is also our loss, as close as our families are to each other. We will truly miss John's positive attitude and contagious smile. Jeanna, our heart goes out to you and we pray that the Lord gives you the strength and continues to heal your heart. Cherish and share those memories forever. Mark and I (Joni) had the pleasure of bowling alongside John, always encouraging us along the way. John, give Crane a big hug for us.
