Julio "Jimmy" Garcia, 56, went to rest in Heaven with his father Julio Sr. and sister Teresa on April 18th, 2016. Born January 10th, 1960. Jimmy is survived by his wife Fernanda, daughter Jessica, son Kevin, mother Olivia, sister Lani, and brother Tony. Viewing will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 5:30-8:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2313 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85016 on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:30 AM.

I just found out about my dear friend, my family all loved you like you were our family we grew up together getting in trouble with our moms for ditching school....I am so sorry to here we lost someone so very special. Please give your Sister a big hug from her God-daughter and to your daddy as well. I just feel so badly for all of your family. Your smile will be missed by so very many people. I went to high school with Jimmy and grew up going to the original Garcia's on 35th Ave. Jimmy was a wonderful friend and dedicated member of his family's business. Every time my family would visit the restaurant he was working and was always cheerful,greeting us with his big bright smile. I will never forget him as he is part of my childhood memories. We are so sorry to lose a friend and good neighbor since 1992. JImmy was a good-hearted man who gave refuge to abandoned cats at the restaurant. We asked and he gave us advise when we bought a restaurant on the north side of town many years ago. We will miss his friendly smile and conversations. Our sincere condolences to his family. Rest in Peace Jimmy. Your kindness to humans and compassion to animals will be recognized and rewarded in Heaven.

Jimmy was a great friend of the Phoenix Fire Department. He was a regular visitor to many west side Firehouses and treated us to many great meals at the restaurant. RIP Vaya con Dios Amigo!

I knew Jimmy from my friend Malena that was his employee. He was the sweetest kindest host at the restaurant Garcia's. He had a great sense of humor. I also remember seeing him at Famous Sam's. You will be deeply missed. RIP! May his family find comfort in their heart's at this difficult time of their loss!
