Kerwin Koerper Obituary

Koerper, Kerwin "Win"
Passed away peacefully, at age 79, on March 22, 2011. Win was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and an amazing friend. Win was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from KU, served in the United States Air Force and went on to attend Harvard Business School where he received his MBA with honors. After working at Hallmark, he started his own advertising firm where he was able to pursue his passion for writing, design and creation of innovative ideas. Win moved his business to Phoenix, AZ in 1977 where he could work, while also enjoying all the warmth and opportunities the Valley of the Sun has to offer. Win was active in AA and with over 30 years of sobriety he continually brought hope, wisdom and support to his weekly meetings. His tremendous faith was infectiously displayed by his outward charisma, trust and zeal for God. Win is an only child and he is survived by 6 children, 26 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Service will be held Sunday, March 27th, 2011 at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. at 10am.

Win and I were friends for the past 10 years of his life. As I now reside in Branson Missouri I often think how a part of Win is with me since he was raised in Kansas Missouri. I can still see his smile and hear his laugh. I miss our Saturday afternoon movies and In/Out burger times. He was always so positive to be around. I´m so thankful I had such a true friend in my life. Love always Win, your friend Jane W.

Win and I began our friendship in grade school. We both started our business careers as partners in a booming lemonade stand in Kansas City in the 1940's. We both attended Southwest High. Years later we renewed our friendship in Phoenix Arizona. While I knew of Wins family I never had the pleasure of meeting his many children and grandchildren. Win was master of the art of positive thinking.... I will always remember his smile and his great good humor. Best wishes to all of the

Win and I did business many, many years ago, and I have never forgotten him, or his assistant Paula, even though we lost touch. Win was such a wonderful person, so much fun to be around, and he really knew his business. He made working fun, and I know his family is missing him terribly. My best wishes go out to his family. I know heaven is happier now that Win has come home! God bless all.

To Win's family: I'm so sorry for your loss. He was so proud of all of you. He spoke about his family all of the time.

Win was a wonderful friend, mentor and inspiration. He was instrumental (God's instrument) in my recovery. I will always be grateful for having Win in my life. We will miss you buddy ... no butts.
