Kevin Waycaster Obituary

Waycaster, Kevin Timothy
Kevin Timothy Waycaster, 47, of Glendale, Arizona went into the presence of his Lord after a four-wheeling accident near Crown King on Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Kevin was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on August 17, 1962. He began an amazing twenty-five year career at CSK Auto as a bicycle assembler at age 16 and grew over the course of the years to become a company vice president. Being a skilled business man was not, however, the primary focus of his successful life, but instead, the relationship he had with Jesus Christ. At the age of 19, Kevin experienced a radical change when he accepted Christ's payment for his sin and became a child of God. Eventually, he realized that God was calling him into the ministry. In 1999, he enrolled in International Baptist College, now located in Chandler, Arizona, to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible & Christian Service. Those days were quail and manna days, as he liked to call them, because God provided what he needed for each day as he worked full-time, cared for his family, and studied to become a pastor. After earning his degree, he retired from CSK and began as administrative pastor at Northwest Valley Baptist Church in Glendale and principal of Arrowhead Christian Academy, a ministry of the church. Known by the students as a generous giver of bear-hugs, and to many as a leader passionate for excellence in academics and character, Kevin loved others and desired to see people live according to God's Word. He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Vera; two sons and three daughters; two brothers, Clark and Clayton; his sister, Beverly; and his mother. Barbara Moore. Memorial services for Kevin and Micah will be held at Cathedral Christian Center on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 7 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary. Burial will be private

I am so honored to be Kevin's big sister. His strength and wisdom will always be a part of me. As a child he was always trying to help and he was just a joy to be with. As he grew older, he became a wonderful young man who inspired me by his courage when he presided over his niece's funeral. His heart was so full of love and generosity for everyone.

Our Grandmother and Kevin's Mother are sisters. I guess I only met Kevin once. We have a few snapshots taken in my grandma's front yard. Kevin is chasing me, waving his arms, and I'm laughing. Kevin was about 14 then and already wearing glasses. I was 1 year old.
Our grandma loved her nephew, Kevin very much. She always told us how much fun he made her visits to Seattle. Kevin always took the time to spend with Mamaw and her sisters. Taking them on day trips, or just making them laugh. The whole family here in Tennessee will miss Kevin.

Hi Vera,
Although we didn't get to spend much time together, I really enjoyed getting acquainted with you guys some in the past few years. I thought so much of Kevin and I know he and Micah are going to be missed so much. I can't begin to know what ya'll are going through. I wanted to call, but I don't know what to say. Ya'll have been in my thought and prayers constantly. Please know the Waycasters in Tennessee are praying and thinking of you all. Please give our love to Trulla and the rest of your family. May God comfort you as only HE can (and I know He will).

Vera, I see your smiling face every day at school. It breaks my heart for having such a difficult loss...I to have a husband and son of those ages. I cannot imagine the pain you are going through. I think of just how precious life is and how quickly God can take it away. Just remember the memories, both good and bad, and they will always be with you. I pray for healing and can not wait for the day you come back into the lives of those you help every.
