Lana Carson Obituary

Lana Kay Carson, 60, of Phoenix passed on October 11, 2006 after a yearlong battle with cancer.  She is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, Dr. Stephen L. Carson, and three sons, Kenneth Dixon (Dayna) of Wellington, Colorado, Nathan of Phoenix and Mark (Melissa) of Chandler, Arizona.  She had two grandchildren, Darah and Levi, and was expecting a granddaughter, Katherine Kay, in January.  She is also survived by her mother Dorothy Winter, her mother-in-law Bonita Carson as well as her brothers Jack Winter and Terry Winter.  Her father, John E. Winter, preceded her in death on March 3, 2005. Lana was an accomplished woman having earned Masters Degrees with honors in Industrial Engineering, Counseling, and Education.  She retired from Salt River Project in 2001. Her greatest joys were entertaining her family and friends, traveling, and serving as a volunteer with the Phoenix Police Department. We who knew and loved her will miss her very much.  A celebration of her life will take place 3:00pm, Saturday, October 21 at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, Arizona. The family suggests contributions be made in Lana's name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85016.

Dear Carson Family,

I am so sorry for your grief after your wife and mothers passing. She was truly a wonderful lady and I enjoyed so much my acquaintance with her while she was at SRP. I was always amazed at her knowledge and her ability to relate to people. She was truly a wonderful lady and left a great legacy for all you and her grandchildren. You are in my prayers.
