Leonard Yanochik Obituary

Yanochik, Leonard
78, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on February 26, 2014. He was born in Jessup, Pennsylvania on July 29, 1935 and graduated from Jessup High School. After receiving his Diploma, Leonard made his way to Ithaca, New York where he then attended Colgate University and received a Bachelor's Degree. After college, Leonard began working for American Airlines, and in 1962, he married Anita L. Vangarelli. The following year he left New York, crossing the country and made a home in Arizona. Leonard worked Real Estate in the Phoenix area for many years, and later joined the U.S. Military. He traveled the continents and served in Germany and also had the honorable opportunity to be a member of the Army's football team. Leonard was a noble supporter of the V.F.W. and American Legion organizations. He also had a passion for the Western Arizona lifestyle, enjoyed fishing, and with his witty sense of humor - relished in playing a good prank. He is survived by his son Gregory Owens and sister Lorrain Galardi. Leonard's final resting place will be at the National Cemetery of Arizona on 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, Arizona 85024.A Military Service will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 14.
