Louis Haggerty Obituary

Louis (Lou) Crimmins Haggerty Jr., 82, died of natural causes on Thursday, May 5, 2005 in Boise, surrounded by his children. Lou was born in New York City on Sept. 9th, 1922, the first son of Louis Crimmins Sr. and Adele Prindle Haggerty. Lou came from a large Irish Catholic family, his siblings included; Adele, Shelia, Bruce, Henry and Philip. Lou graduated with a BA and JD from Fordham University. Lou spent his first 40 years in NYC developing many close and rewarding friendships that he kept his entire life. In 1962 he married Ann Marie Neylon, they had four children. They later divorced. Lou spent the next 40 years of his life being a father and a friend to many. He retired as Investigations Manager from the Arizona State Compensation Fund. He had many areas of interest including photography, and was member Chairmen of the Board of the Arizona State Savings & Credit Union. Grandpa "Bubbles" as he was known possessed the Irish's "gift of gab" and entertained his 7 grandchildren with wonderful stories from his childhood. Dad was a kind man and taught many a lesson to friend and family with his insight and humor. Lou was a friend to all, especially those who were "living one day at a time." He would have celebrated 40 years in AA this July. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Adele and brother Henry. He is survived by his children, Louis, Susan, James, Carol and her husband Mike and seven wonderful grandchildren, Lauren, David, Thomas, Nicole, Kelly, Emily and John. A memorial mass was held at St. Mark's in Boise, ID. On Saturday June 25th a memorial AA meeting will be held at CrossRoads East 1845 E. Ocotillo Rd Phoenix at 1:00 pm all are welcome.
