The family moved to Los Angeles where he graduated from Whittier High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII, in the 101st Airborne Signal Co. as a Teletype mechanic in Europe. After the War, he graduated from Pacific States University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. My grandpa was an amazing man. He always had a story to tell, and a joke to get us laughing and smiling. He lived an accomplished life, well loved by his family, and will be missed greatly. I love my grandpa very much and look forward to the day I will see him again. Be in Peace.

His sense of humor was never lost and on my last visit in 2009 he was still willing to share his knowledge. I never knew him to say anything unkind about anyone. He loved his wife and his children and
that love always came through. He will be missed, our condolences to
the family.

I will always have my own memories of our Uncle Kido. His smile & his eyes when he would tell his stories. His since of humor. I remember the first time we went to visit when they moved to Phoenix. He took us (Lopez Kids)to the mountains so we could see the lights of the city & how beautiful that was. There was never a dull moment that he wouldn't make you laugh or smile. It's like you were waiting for him to say anything to make you laugh. Uncle Kido I will miss you and everything about you. To my Aunt Irene and my Cousins, just know that he was loved by ALL WHO KNEW HIM. And we will all have a loving memory of him. He will be greatly missed. Love You Uncle Kido.

Growing up, every time I was over hanging out with Mary, we'd be blessed by some funny story Mr. D would tell. He always had a smile and a joke for me, such good memories.....

He will always be Uncle Kito to me. I loved spending summers in Arizona with him, aunt Irene and my cousins. I didnt mind mowing lawns in 115 degrees because i was with my favorite cousins. I'll remember his sense of humor and his guitar talent. I always felt like one of the family in Arizona.

This was "My Uncle" as a kid he always kept us entertained & made us laugh. As we got older he did the same our my kids. He was a witty man and gentle. I can remember him always in that little room downstairs working on something & always wondered "whats in that room." I was sadden to see him a few years back when his Alzheimers had already set in, and he really didn't know who I was, but even at that visit he was still that same witty man I remembered.
Love you Uncle Kito.
