Maria Gradillas Obituary

Gradillas, Maria Valdez
Age 88, an Arizona native and longtime resident of El Mirage, most recently of Glendale, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2011. Maria was born in Cold Water, (Agua Fria) Arizona on March 22, 1923. Although she lived some of her younger years in Mexico with her father and siblings, she moved back to Arizona in her early twenties, where she met and married her husband, Angel Gradillas; when he returned back as a decorated soldier from WWII. They were married for 58 years. He passed away in August of 2006. Mary was a devout Catholic who loved her faith and family very much. She will be incredibly missed by her children Jesus Angel, Delia (Tony) Stevens, Lupe, Josephina (Shane) Schultz. She also has grandchildren, who love her immensely, Marissa, Jacob, Jimmy (Chelsey) Hunter. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, June 9 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, with Rosary at 7 PM. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 10 at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix. Interment will follow at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Mama, continue to watch over us all. We will always love you, rest in peace with the LORD, our savior.
