Mary Louise (Goll) Blish

- - Mary Louise Blish passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 28, 2018, surrounded by her loving children and loyal pets. She lived a beautifully caring life as a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.

She was born Mary Louise Goll in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 4, 1923 to Edward and Mary (Sullivan) Goll. She grew up in an Irish neighborhood where the heart of the community was Holy Rosary Church. She walked to school each morning and to her grandmother's house each afternoon. It was here she fell in love with her Catholic faith.

Mary moved to Phoenix in 1947 to begin her married life and raise a family in the St. Francis Xavier parish. She was first and foremost a mother and boredom was never an option in her home. She was a girl scout leader, boy scout leader and a ready volunteer. She orchestrated 10-week vacations, camping all the way from Arizona to Minnesota. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, reading, anything outdoors and her many beloved dogs and cats. She was a bookkeeper for many local businesses including the original Mary Coyle Ice Cream and the Arizona State Livestock Board.

She is survived by her children Edward, Joseph, Cassandra Kowalczyk, Sharon and her grandchildren K.C. Blish, Sara Rushlau (Elton) and Melissa Kowalczyk.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM with a Rosary at 1:30 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85012.
