Millard Fourt Obituary

Fourt, Millard E.
was born to Powell E Fourt and Anna Millard Fourt on April 14, 1920 just outside Fulton, Missouri. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 15, 2011. Millard had three sisters: Mildred (his twin - now deceased), Louise, and Tillie. Millard earned his Bachelors Degree at Northwest Missouri State College where he majored in agriculture and science. He also lettered in track and was high point man his junior year. Near the end of his senior year, he was drafted into the Army. Millard was a highly decorated World War II veteran, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division in the invasion of Sicily, D-Day invasion, Battle of Holland, and Battle of the Bulge. After the war, Millard received his Master's Degree from Iowa State University in vocational agriculture. It was there that he met Margaret Conner, who would be his beloved wife of 63 years. Margaret passed away February 2, 2009. Millard and Margaret moved to Yuma, Arizona in 1947, to take a job teaching vocational agriculture at Yuma union High School. In the summer of 1956 Millard and Margaret moved their family to Phoenix, Arizona where he began teaching vocational agriculture in the Phoenix Union school district. Millard is survived by his sisters: Louise Holt, Tillie Marshall; his four children: Jeanette (Perry) Harris, Phyllis Middleton, Bill (Lorna) Fourt, and Patti (Cliff) Brayshaw; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Millard was a faithful husband and father, a great leader, teacher, and man of God. We will miss him. A Memorial Service will be held at the Luther Life Center, Beatitudes Campus, 1616 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix, AZ, at 2 PM Monday, April 18, 2011.
