Nicholas Van Lewen Obituary
Nicholas Bryson Van Lewen, 24 of Peoria passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011. He was born in Glendale on February 23, 1987 to Chris and Dusty (Mary Damron) Van Lewen. Nicholas graduated from Cactus High School in 2005 and was a member of Perfect Poise Car Club. Nick was a great friend, loving son, and always put others before himself. He enjoyed working on trucks and dragging them anywhere he could. In addition to his dad Chris and mom Dusty he is survived by a son Ryder, two brothers Kenneth & Christian, sister-in-law Chantel, niece Cortney, grandparents Friedel Van Lewen, Thomas W. Damron, aunt and uncle Audrey & Mike Gobel. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 from 5:00-8:00PM at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd, Peoria. A celebration of Nicholas's life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00AM at the funeral home. In keeping with Nicholas's style please come casual. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Nicholas's mother and father Chris and Dusty Van Lewen at Chase Bank at 59th Ave and Union Hills, account #987213972, to be used for his son Ryder.

I'm sorry I missed this page for so long. Its still hurts to know your gone. In the 7 or so years I knew you, I learned about how great a friend you could be. When I got married, the next time I saw you, you were the first to give me a hug and congratulate me and it meant a lot. You were always the first guy I looked for at the truck shows. our deepest sympathies to the Van Lewen family, Nick was a beautiful person and I'm sure he is already greatly missed. I just today foundout about his passing. I would of loved to have benn there to say goodbye. he did alot of nice things for my boys. Thank God for the blessing of Ryder.

12 years ago I met and fell in love with a woman. After 6 weeks she flew to the USA to her relatives. Out of this unbelievable vacation she got to know some wonderful people and came back with this Teddy Bear, which had been given to her by a fantastic young man, her cousin Nicholas. The family had gone to lunch and the young man being very good at the toy crane machine gabbed it and gave it to her to keep. Ever since the Bear has been sleeping in our mutual bed. Kerstin cannot sleep without it.
When our first son was born we of course, had to name him Niclas after your Nicholas. Now all three share the same name. Your loving son, our Niclas and the Bear.
Through our son and the Bear we will always remember him. To bad we can only know him by pictures and the telling of stories. Just the same we will never forget him.

I'm so sorry to hear about Nick. He was the sweetest and truest person I have ever met. You could always rely on Nick, even if you hadn't talked to him in years, he was there. So many fond memories. He will truly be missed by those who knew him well.

Our deepest sympathies go out to everyone in the Van Lewen family. Remembering that little boy with his big infectious smile and all the good times we had playing in our backyard and out on 74th lane has kept us smiling through our tears. Our world is a little darker today without Nick. We just heard about this last night and are very sorry we missed the memorial service. I can gladly say I remember the day Dad, Christian,Kenn and myself were glowing with excitment on our way to the hospital when we were told Mom had delivered baby Nicholas! Hard to believe, but he came out weighing over eleven pounds!!! My memories of Nick and the family seem endless & will never be forgotten!
