Noreen Bailey Obituary

Noreen Elizabeth (Kimmey) Bailey, of Mesa Arizona, passed away December 24, 2003. She was 90 years old. Noreen was born in Meadville, PA, where she attended the Music Conservatory and began a life-long study of music when she was five years old. At the time of her death, Noreen had played the organ and piano for more than 80 years. As a young woman, Noreen was a fashion buyer for the Crawford Store and she traveled to New York each season to purchase new clothing lines for the store. Noreen married Melvin David ("M.D.") Bailey Jr., in 1942. A proud military officer's wife, Noreen was a Red Cross nurse during the war and she later worked at Desert Samaritan Hospital for more than 25 years. Noreen was a member of the Amaranth and Eastern Star organizations. She was honored in 2003 for her devotion and lifelong commitment to playing the organ at Eastern Star ceremonies and special events. She played music as a volunteer for 60 years for a number of Eastern Star chapters and she often traveled throughout Arizona to donate her time and musical talent. Each year, Noreen traveled to Florida where she organized and managed the conference store at the Florida Association For Behavior Analysis conference. Noreen is survived by her son Dr. Jon Bailey, his wife, Dr. Mary Burch-Bailey, a daughter, Susan Kim Bailey and two grandsons, Christopher and Michael Bailey. A memorial service will be held at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa on Monday, December 29th at 1pm. A private graveside service will be held for the family.
