Patricia Ludt Obituary

Ludt, Patricia
passed away on April 11, 2014, after a 16-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in London, England, on Feb. 6, 1942 to Bill and Stella Arkell. She married Richard Kneller, a singer known as Dickie Pride, "The Sheik of Shake," in London and had a son, Richard (deceased). After Dickie's untimely death, she met and married Rudolph Ludt and moved to New York, where they had a daughter, Michelle. They next moved to Palmer Lake, Colorado and then to Colorado Springs, upon Rudy's retirement. After Rudy's death in 1990, she fell in love with Philip Browner and moved with him to Phoenix, Arizona. Tricia was an accomplished horsewoman, tennis player, water colorist and interior designer, operating Tricia Ludt Design Studio. She was a member of IIDA in CO and AZ, where her love of color and design were reflected in her wardrobe and interior design work. Tricia traveled the world extensively and had many friends in Europe, Mexico and the USA. With her engaging personality, she met people easily, and some of her best and oldest friends were met on vacations. She needed very little excuse to generate a party and was always the first on the dance floor with her bubbly energy and infectious laugh. A key moment in Tricia's life was a memorable weekend with Phil and best friends Larry and Joanne Means, dining at sea side restaurants and being serenaded by Mariachis. Under the banner of "What would Tricia do?", (1) Throw a party, (2) Buy a new outfit, or (3) Laugh and dance, her final party will be with tacos on the grill and Mariachis playing, with family and friends celebrating her life. She is survived by husband Philip, daughter Michelle Ludt (Heidi), and brother Kevin Arkell (Susan). Her family is deeply grateful for the loving care given her by Hospice of Arizona and Northland Hospice of Flagstaff, as well as her Phoenix and Flagstaff nurses and caregivers. Donations in her honor may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
