Peggy Cohen Obituary

Neiman, Peggy Cohen Kesselman
Peggy Cohen Kesselman Neiman died November 22, 2013. Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1929, Peggy's love of music began with the piano at age 8. She and her husband Stanley moved to Phoenix in 1953 with young Idell and Michael in tow. Janine was born 4 years later. Besides children, Peggy expressed her creativity through writing and arranging music, crafting parodies of popular shows for local synagogues and community organizations, providing accompaniment for various performances, and adding her voice and direction to musical performances and readers' theater. She married Ervin Neiman, and together birthed and managed Scottsdale's Magazine House for 10 years. She and Erv were active members of the Scottsdale Symphony for more than 30 years. After Erv's death, Peggy moved back to Phoenix, building and renewing friendships through music, song, and laughter at Chris Ridge Village and Phoenix Mt. Nursing Center. Peggy is survived by 5 children: Idell Kesselman, Michael Kesselman (Rachel), Janine Kesselman, Stephanie King (James), and Caryl Lapota (Jack); 12 grandchildren: Risa, Talya, Iva, Maya, Adam, Alycia, Samantha, Claire, Jordan, Sarah, Lauren, and Page; and great- grandchildren Sara, Nolan, and Jack. Graveside services will be held 12:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale 85257. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Mouth & Foot Painting Artists, 2870 Peachtree Industrial Court, Ste. 101, Atlanta, GA 30341. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
