Roman Comer Obituary
International Race Aficionado Roman Mansel Comer, 77, of Litchfield Park, AZ crossed the finish line November 24, 2011. "Mr. Hospitality" was born February 8, 1934 in Oakman "Slick Lizard", AL to Mansel and Annie (Knight) Comer. He has played host to NASCAR drivers, car owners, their crews and fans for decades in his bars, Roman's Oasis and Roman's County Line. His home is a virtual western town built to host his family, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, son Steven Greg Comer, grandson Daniel Roman DiGerolamo, and his beloved dog Punky. Roman is survived by his loving wife Karen D. "Grady" Comer, children Grant Roman (Vicky) Comer, Myra Floy Curtis, Vickie (Scott) Clayton, Teri Lynn Muench and Kristina Katherine "Tina" (Adam) DiGerolamo; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Celebration of Roman's life will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2 pm Palm Valley Church, 431 N.
Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338. In lieu of flowers remembrances in Roman's name may be given to the Arizona Humane Society. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Chapel 623-974-3671. Michael C. Harris Funeral Director.

I was shocked to just hear about Roman. I was in AZ on December 2nd and had I known I would have been at the funeral to say goodbye. I know for a fact that Roman, Steve and Brad Cunningham are up in heaven having a ball. Brad loved Roman and Steve and our family is so greatful for how they took such good care of him. Roman you are a one of a kind and will be missed by many. I am so glad that I went into the bar the last time I was in town and there you were sitting at the bar. You will be missed but never, never forgotten. Grady and the Comer family I am thinking of you in your time of loss and sending many prayers your way.

As I sit here reading all the wonderful things about the Comer family, the tears are flowing - but then we know that everything is truly in an uproar in heaven while Roman is riding his golf cart,with Steve and Punky by his side. Punky is barking orders and Roman is telling him Good Boy. Roman and Grady truly have hearts of gold and the whole family is wonderful. Roman, you will be missed terribly. Everyone you have met will have a story to tell with a smile and will always remeber you.......

My Deepest sympathy goes out to Romans entire family. It has been years since I have seen Roman but at one time in my life I spent a lot of time at the Oasis. Roman was loved by everyone, you could see that when he made his rounds and would make people feel special. Roman was a good man. Very sorry to hear what happened. Our hearts sank when we heard the news. Roman was a dear friend who always was there to help you when you needed anything. We are so happy to have been able to have been in a portion of his life. We will always remember his kindness to us and especially my mother. Roman will be very missed.

We are so saddened for the loss of a great man. Roman put a smile on everyones face. Will never forget the tour he gave us of his little town at his home. I also enjoyed developing his racing photos many years ago. Enjoyed his stories as well. He will be dearly missed.

Roman was an incredible influence in my husband's life for decades and I became an immediate fan of his when I met him in 2008. A wonderful and giving man to everyone he came in touch with. I called you Uncle Roman cause you were more than just a friend and you were always there when I called and would answer with a laugh.
