Bobbie and Family,

I just wanted you to know I always looked up to Ron. It's odd to have someone who was a good friend to both father and son. My parents loved him too.

He always tried to give me sportcoats and suits that never fit a short guy like me. I was never sure if he was taking care of me for my Dad or just wanted me to look sharper if I was gonna be friends with his daughter. He and my folks can discuss it now and tell us later.

Love the whole Toman Crew!

Bobbie, we go back a long way on Drury, the East Side of KC. I used to count on Ron for a ride to Columbia in the late 50's in the blue and white 1956 Chevy. I kept up with Ron in the newspaper and when your son was a QB at North Texas. I am so sorry to hear of Ron's passing.

Ron, Was my friend & teammate at Missouri, beginning in 1956. Later we coached together at Northeast Mo. St. [ now Truman St.] & was essential to our winning MIAA Championships in 1969 & '70. He was one of the very finest Offensive Co-ordinators in all of College football. He was an exceptional friend, father, husband & coach!

I shared the early part of my military career with Ron. We took basic training at Fort Riley KS and went on to Fort Hood. We drove to KC many times in my car on a three day pass. Usually four of us made the round trip. Ron and I along with a fellow named Valentine and a black kid Williams. He was a good friend and a good soldier. I had no idea what became of him after I left Fort Hood for Germany. I was so surprised to learn of his great coaching career. I am so proud to have known him for a year or so. He was a good man and I liked him very much. My condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grand children. What a wonderfull legacy he leaves.
