Beth, Life is just not fair sometimes. Scott will be remembered as an honest, warm, great human being with no enemies. As a matter of fact everybody I know who knew him thought he was among the greatest. He will be missed, but remembered by many.

Beth and Family, Pat Hoelker contacted me to inform the Iowa JCI Senate of Scott's death. As Chaplain of the Iowa JCI Senate ,please accept our condolences and know that you are all in our prayers. Scott started his Jaycee career in Iowa and is remembered highly by those that worked with him. The Senate and Jaycees have lost a true leader.

Family of Scott, so many years and miles have passed since we had good times traveling to Region I, and various chapter events. Scott was a great asset to the Jaycees and communities wherever he and you were. His battle was long, but his Good Deeds and Happy Times will continued to be remembered. Each of you and he will remain in our prayers.

Dear Beth,
Thank you so much for providing me the opportunity to do this. I live in Hawaii and information like this travels slow sometimes. It was always a pleasure hangin around the Jaycees with Scott and working projects, socializing and creating a better life for all those invloved. He was a great leader and a good friend. We will miss him.

Dear Beth,
Please add my condolences to those of your many friends and acquaintances. I will always remember first meeting you and Scott at Jaycee's in the 1980's and will be forever grateful for the leadership that Scott demonstrated at such a young age.
Through volunteer efforts, he led by example - sharing his skills, dedication and commitment. His projects benefitted the citizens of Mesa - and beyond - in immeasurable ways.
May his good name, and accomplishments continue to direct and lead others to unselfish community service.

Two Views of the Same Ship
I am standing upon the seashore;
a ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch her until - at length - she hangs like a speck of white cloud,
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, “There! She’s gone!”
Gone where?
Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side,
and is just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not her;
and just at the moment when someone at my side says, “There! She’s gone,
there are other eyes watching her coming,
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,
“There she comes!”

AFTER A BRAVE , LONG BATTLE, SCOTT LOOKED TO HEAVEN AND WAS WELCOMED. WHAT HE GAVE AND WHO HE WAS HAS BROUGHT HIS SOUL TO REST..... AND A NEW JOURNEY BEGINS.
THE LORD HAS SLOWED DOWN HIS WORRIED PACE AND SCOTT HAS FOUND HEALING AND PEACE IN A GENTLE PLACE. HIS SPIRIT HAS BEEN CALMED, HIS FEARS LIFTED. ALL THE GOOD AND GIVING DEEDS HE DID FOR OTHERS WHILE HE WAS HERE WILL BE REWARDED A HUNDRED FOLD.
