Stanley Novak Obituary
Stanley B. Novak,
79, of Phoenix, died peacefully on July 10, 2004 after complications from back surgery. He was born on April 26, 1925 in Chicago, IL. He was the sixth of eight children born to Polish immigrants, Andrew and Caroline Novak. Stan served as an M.P. in the US Army during WWII. Returning to Justice, IL he served on the town police and volunteer fire departments. His American entrepreneurial led him to start many businesses. He owned a trucking and fuel tanker company, a snow removal business, a bottled water company and United Asphalt Road Paving. One day, he spotted his future wife, Emily Konieczny, walking across the street. Stan relentlessly pursued her until he finally won her heart. Stan and Emily had four children. In 1971, the West called out to Stan and he moved the family to Arizona. He started a mobile home park and sales in Glendale. The next venture was acquiring an adobe retail yard, Grand Mexican Adobe and Mini- Mix Concrete, in 1981, he purchased Madison Granite. Stan loved life and was never afraid to try something new. He loved his family, polka music, playing the accordion and harmonica, gambling in Vegas, earthy jokes, and operating a bulldozer at "the pit". The mold was broken after God made Stan. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. He is preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and a grandchild. He is survived my his loving wife of 52 years, Emily Novak, Childrenren Marie Novak, David Novak (Sharon), Marcia Kempf (Ted), and Stanley B. Novak, Jr. (Ann), all of Phoenix. He is survived by his eight grandchildren Tyler, Alexandra and Austin Novak, Logan and Jordan Kempf and Sarah, Andrew and Hannah Novak. and his sisters Laura Kirkland of Palos Hills, IL and Patricia Kralis of Sarasota, FL and brother Gene of Orlan Park. IL. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 14, 4:00- 8:00pm at Hansen's Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St. Phoenix. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am Thursday, July 15 St. Paul's Catholic Church 330 W.
