Punch, Stephen James
Died in a tragic motorcycle crash on Carefree Highway in Phoenix, Ariz. on Thursday, March 25, 2010. He was 52 years old. He is survived by one daughter, Angelle Marie Punch of Spokane, Wash.; his mother, Beatrice Hargis Punch of Lockport, LA.; a brother and sister-in-law, Marlon Michael Punch and Lynette Parks Punch of Katy, Texas; and a sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda Punch Zarzycki and James Zarzycki of Gretna, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Roman J. Punch, Jr., and one son, Eli Lawrence Odee Punch. A native of Lockport, LA, and former resident of New Orleans and Phoenix, "Punch" was a self-employed technology consultant. A 1975 graduate of Central Lafourche High School, he played defense for the Trojans football team. He never met a stranger – he was friendly, gregarious, and an avid fan of LSU and Saints football. A great cook and fun-loving character; he grilled, boiled, sauced, and seasoned every event he attended. A motorcycling enthusiast, Steve was a devoted friend of many and "Uncle Punch" to the many children in his life. He loved his family and was especially proud to be Eli and Angelle's father. A memorial will be conducted Thursday April 1st at 6 pm Brennan's Sports Bar, 13610 N. Scottsdale Rd. Scottsdale, Ariz. Visitation will be at Holy Savior Catholic Church, 612 Main St., Lockport, LA. on Monday, April 5 from 8 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Savior Cemetery.
