Like the others who were blessed to know Steve, I feel sad to know that his life ended at such an early age. We were friends in the late 1970s and I felt blessed to enjoy his happy personality, playful spirit and keen intelligence. One of my most unique and unforgettable memories involves him, a station wagon, a gas pump, no money, a bar...and my aunt...in Sunflower, AZ in the summer of 1977. Because of that memory, I feel that Steve is having a lot of fun where ever he might be right now.

This is such disturbing news. Steve was a wonderful person. I was so glad we reconnected just a few years ago at a Greenway HS reunion. He was a gracious host and all around good guy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones. The warmest regards.

My sincere condolences to Steve's family, friends and loved ones. High school would have been boring without Steve. He was a great friend then and it's clear he lived life well doing what he loved.

So sad to hear this. I knew Steve at Greenway HS. We worked on the Demon Dispatch and we met up during college through the Londens. He was always a happy guy. I recall several pranks he pulled during the long hours of working on the school paper. He made us all laugh. Rest in peace.

Steve Witt was a good friend of mine at Greenway High School. My first memory of him was when we were choosing the name for the school paper, the "Demon Dispatch." We had so many crazy ideas. He was always a great friend when you were feeling down. He just lit up the room. You were much loved and will be greatly missed!!

Steve was an amazing man. I went to High school with him and worked on our 10 year class reunion with him. This world has lost a fine man that would light up a room with his wonderful smile and was always filled with laughter. Steve you have touched my life and will always be remembered and truly missed.
