Theodore Piekarski

Cave Creek - Theodore "Ted" Piekarski, (81), of Cave Creek, Arizona, originally from Byram Township, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the husband of Mary (Massar). They shared 60 years of marriage together. Born in East Paterson, New Jersey, he was the son of Vincent and Alice Piekarski. He graduated from Paterson Vocational Technical School. He was employed as a mechanic and service manager at several car dealerships, including Brogran Cadillac in New Jersey. In his earlier years Ted was a member of the circus and was an acclaimed tightrope performer. He was a member of Saint Gabriel's Catholic Church in Cave Creek, Arizona. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and target shooting. He was life member of the NRA. He was also a member of several rifle and gun clubs both in New Jersey and in Arizona. He will be remembered for spending time sharing boating and fishing with his children at their lakefront home on Lake Lackawanna in New Jersey. He is survived by his wife Mary, sons Mark Piekarski and his wife Patty of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tim Piekarski and wife Laura, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Brian Piekarski and wife Jennifer of Weston, Connecticut; daughters Wendy Piekarski of Montague, New Jersey, and Cindy Rome and husband Virgil of Fredon Township, New Jersey. He is also survived and will be missed by grandchildren Lacie, Lucas, Miranda, and Elizabeth Piekarski. He was predeceased by a sister, Stella Przybyla and is also survived by brother Anthony Martone and wife Nancy of Pequannock, NJ, sister Mary Ann and husband George Maloney of Cape May NJ, brother Vincent Piekarski Jr. and wife Barbara of Conover, North Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10 am at Saint Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Viewing and visitation will be private for the family. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the YMCA of Paterson, NJ to help unfortunate and needy children.
