Timothy Wharton Obituary

Wharton, Timothy William
38, of Glendale passed away on March 21, 2010. Tim was born July 7, 1971, in Phoenix. For over 17 years Tim worked for the Phoenix Union High School District in a variety of capacities and was known as an all around "go-to-guy." Tim's family, friends and his work family will miss his ready smile, his sense of humor and his willingness to use his skills to help anyone in need of help. He was a loving, supportive parent to his two children, Linzy, a college student, and Brandon, a high school student. In addition to his two children, he is survived by his father, Bill Wharton, mother Lee Gerwitz, stepfather Jim Gerwitz, his sisters, Tracy Tate and Denise Herron, and brother, Ted Gerwitz. A Celebration of Tim's life is scheduled for Saturday, April 10th, 11:00 AM at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th St. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation be made to the Tim Wharton Memorial Fund, established at the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union (Act. #6000045930) to assist Linzy and Brandon with continuing their educations.

Tomorrow we pay our respects to Tim, but we will cherish the memories that he has left for us. I will remember him riding the Harley and see him come back from riding like a little boy with a new bicycle. This is one of my favorite memories among many I have of Tim. Please Jesus, accept Tim into your arms and give Linzy and Brandon and all of Tim's family your comfort in this time of sorrow. We pray this in his name.

Let us not forget that Tim-O-Thy was very much a part of our family and touched our lives in different ways. I also, like you, am deeply saddened by his passing.

Linzy and Brandon,
Your father is not gone away from you; he is forever with you in your heart. Speak to him often and he will speak back to you.

Linzy and Brandon, Bill, Lee and Jim, My heart is so heavy with sadness. Tim was a very special man, he loved you all very much and wanted so much to be the father and son you all deserved. He would light up when he spoke of you kids, he was very proud of you!

My God bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand as you grieve your loss. I hope you will always remember your father's love and know he is at peace and will always watch over you.

With love, Melanie Brumble
