Valerie Messner Obituary

Messner, Valerie
went to be with the Lord after a long battle with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension on December 31, 2015 at age 33. Valerie was born September 8, 1982, in Phoenix, AZ, daughter to Tom and Beverly Messner. She was preceded in death by her mother and brother Paul, who also lost the battle to the same disease. She is survived by her daughter and best friend Kayla Brusseau, father Tom; stepmother Angie; brother Chris Corley; sisters Megan and Sarah; grandparents Thomas and Rosalie; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Valerie was a dedicated and loving mother who enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends, baking and decorating cakes, family vacations, cousin parties, and watching Packers games with her father and daughter. Valerie was a devoted dance mom, and loved watching her daughter Kayla's dance performances. She is remembered for her strength, perseverance, optimism, determination and her contagious laughter and smile. Valerie was an inspiration to all; through nine years of battling her disease she never once complained or let it stop her from living her life to the fullest. Everyone who came across her was touched by her spirit, and hopes to live their lives with the same smile and unfaltering joy that she did. Valerie's Celebration of Life Service will be held at Skyway Church of the West Valley, 14900 W. Van Buren St, Goodyear on Saturday Jan 9th, 10am

Valerie,

I have only seen you with your daughter Kayla. I want you to know that you have raised a beautiful young woman and I have enjoyed watching her grow for the last 6 years. She has become confident, principled and caring over the years; I only have you to thank for that. Thank you for being the mom that you are and know that Kayla will always be taken care of....outside of the immediate family. Love, Mary Daniels and the Odyssey Family
