Walter E. Fahey, 93, of Goodyear AZ passed away on June 7,2017. Walter was born on July 23,1923, in Port Leyden NY. Parents were Paul and Mary Fahey. He was married to Charlotte C. Muhl in 1944, moved to Tucson AZ in 1952 and then to Flagstaff in 1964. At age 17, Walter joined the CCC later enlisted in the Marine Corp at age 19. He served in the 6th Marine Division and received a Purple Heart along with other commendations for outstanding service in Okinawa Japan. Walter is preceded in death by his Wife Charlotte, and His son Michael Bryce, and Great Grandson Christopher Bryce. Walter is survived by His Daughter Mary Krell (Jon), Grandchildren, Cheryl, Heath(Michelle), Kristina Lynn(Marc), and Michael(Haley) along with Great Grand Children, Meghan, Maddison, Emma, Gavin, John, and Jamison, and one Sister, Mrs. Diana Harris, of Baltimore, MD. Walter was a lifetime Member of Marion McDaniel Masonic Lodge in Tucson, and the Alton Kol Grotto. He served as Worthy Patron of Grand Canyon Chapter #4, Order of the Eastern Star, Flagstaff, was a member of the VFW, Mayer Hunt Club, and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was an avid hunter, skier and had a love of the outdoors. He was retired from the US Geological Survey. A Memorial Service for Walter will be held and the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, on Friday, June 23rd at 1:30 PM. In lieu of Flowers please make a donation to the Disabled American Veterans.
