William Parker "Bill" Bouchard

William Bouchard Obituary

Bouchard, William Parker "Bill"
58, of Scottsdale, our dear friend and loved one, passed away November 13, 2008, after a long, heroic battle against cancer.  Many have described him as "the bravest man they had ever known."  Bill will be remembered for his strength, wit and warm heart.  Over the years, Bill built many friendships and was always there for everyone.  He will be dearly missed by his soul mate-his wife Sue-along with his mother, brother, daughter Jamie, and his grandchildren; Nicholas, Brooklyn, Brock, and soon to be born, Nicole.  The special relationship between Nick and his Papa was a joy to see, and the pride he had for Jamie was beyond compare.  Bill was preceded in death by his father Jim Bouchard and is survived by his beloved mother Marie and brother Robert.  Bill was born in Worchester, MA, on December 7, 1949.  His parents ran away from the cold of the East and settled in Southern California.  He grew up idyllically surfing, hanging out at Disney Land and just being "cool."  His Daddy's transfer to Chicago in 1965 brought him to Wheaton, IL where he met Sue in high school and they have been together ever since.  Bill graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1972, where, in spite of having too much fun, he earned his degree in marketing.  After many trips to Arizona visiting his parents, Bill, Sue and Jamie packed up the Porsche and they too ran away from the cold East to Scottsdale in 1979.  He built a successful career in real estate, first working for his Mom at Marie Bouchard Realty and later for Realty Executives.  He didn't just sell houses, he sold homes.  His clients became friends and his life has been surrounded by these wonderful people.  Bill and Sue discovered Lake Powell in 1982 and a love affair was created.  After years of beach camping, he finally got his houseboat in '98, where he shared happy times with cherished friends and family in what he believed was "God's Country."  He so enjoyed sharing the Lake Powell experience, exploring the lake and canyons and cementing friendships through laughter and working together.  He taught all that Lake Powell was more than a vacation, it was an adventure.  A celebration of Bill's life will be held On Sunday, November 16th, 2008.  Visitation is between 2:00pm and 3:00pm at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. in Scottsdale.  Services will be held at 3:00pm.  Please join us in remembering our friend and loved on, Bill Bouchard.

To the family, my heart breaks for your loss. Bill was a dear man.

What a legacy of devotion to his family and his friends this man leaves! Bill's laugh will always be remembered by any one who ever met him. His devotion to Sue, Jamie and Nick was so touching through the years. He was an example of how we all should live...love deeply, play hard and make your world better and happier. Thanks Bill! For all you've done for all of us! God bless, Bill will be missed.
