William Shaffer Obituary
born June 29, 1939 went home peacefully to the Father on June 22, 2015. He is survived by his wife Camille (Koepnick), sister, Julie Bucher, niece, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, in-laws and many friends. Bill was born in Milwaukee, WI and lived in Washington, Saudi Arabia, Texas, Illinois and Arizona. He was a man of faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He worked for the AZ State Land Department as an appraiser and retired as Chief Appraiser in 2003. He served on The Planning and Zoning Commission of Glendale for several terms. His sometimes boisterous/assertive demeanor belied the very gentle and generous heart that was always present within him. Bill had a soft spot for dogs and had many of them throughout all his years. They are missing him as we all are. A Catholic Liturgy will be held at a future date to celebrate his life and journey home. Memoral donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.

Camille, I am so sorry for your deep loss of your husband. I understand..I have been diagnosed with leukemia and doing chemo. May God richly bless you as He wants to do and He will take care of you!

Camille, my deepest sympathy to you and the family. I've known Bill since he came to the Land Department and worked his way up to the position of Chief Appraiser before his retirement. He was a gentle man inside but would stand his ground when he needed to. I will always remember him with a smile.
