John Linskey Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of John Owen Linskey announces his death which occurred March 28, 2016.  John was born in Santiago Chile and spent his early childhood there before he and his family moved to Edinburg, Texas.  He completed his bachelor's degree in secondary education at Pan American University in Edinburg and then completed a Master's of Social Work at the University of Houston.  In 1991 he and his wife, Terry Ortega-Linskey, moved to Flagstaff to raise a family in the beautiful mountains they loved.  John completed a doctorate in educational psychology at Northern Arizona University and for almost 20 years worked as an instructor in English and Psychology at Coconino Community College.  John loved his family and his students.  He enjoyed the outdoors and reading and was committed to his three children, Thomas, James and Clarice.  John was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Clarice Linskey of Edinburg. His passing leaves those of us who loved him with a profound sense of loss and a hope that he has found peace.  John, please know that we will love you forever and for always, for you are our dear one!

~ Your loving family, Thomas, James, Clarice, Terry, Christopher, Brenda, Noah and Sofie Linskey of Flagstaff and Sara Linskey of Edinburg Texas.  Memorial Services will be announced in this paper in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in John's name to the Coconino Community College Foundation at 2800 South Lone Tree Road, Flagstaff, AZ 86005 or online by visiting www.coconinofoundation.org.
