Larry Becker
Musician and retired accountant, Larry Becker, left this world on November 10, 2023 at the age of 76. Larry was born in LaJunta, Colorado on December 19, 1946 to Dan and Marie (Enyart) Becker. He grew up in Rocky Ford where his lifelong love of music and sports was fostered. After attending school at Rangely Jr. College, he studied at Colorado State University and Fort Lewis College until his studies were interrupted by his military service in the U.S. Navy. He eventually completed his B.A. in Accounting at the University of Phoenix. Larry was always ready to talk proudly about his military service unless, of course, he began talking about his children, grandchildren, music, motorcycles or cars.
Larry worked as an accountant in Gallup, NM before moving to Flagstaff with Alex's Transportation. He retired in 2013 from Straightline Builders where he was corporate controller.
He was survived by his wife, Beatrice; his daughter, Cassandra; his son, James (Brenda Byrd); and his grandchildren Zarek, Vaden, and Lars. He was proceeded in death by his parents; his sister, Darlene Moore; and his brother, Phillip Becker.
Services will be held at Norvel Owens Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Interments with military honors will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Citizens Cemetery, Veterans' Section. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Larry's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
