In Loving Memory
July 11, 1954-July 11, 2021
Lynn Dee Boer has died at age 67. Lynn Dee was born in Grand Forks, ND to Jim and Darlene
Kontz. She grew up on the family farm as the eldest of 4 children, refining her leadership
qualities, while she accomplished any challenge presented. She drove any tractor from Alice
Chalmers to John Deere. She helped with swatting the grain and combining back when they
were two separate events. She took part in growing and harvesting sugar beets, and drove
huge trucks from the field to the market. She graduated from Oslo Public High School at the top
of her class, and later attended Trinity School of Nursing in Minot, ND, graduating with her RN
She married the love of her life, Jack Boer and had two beautiful children while they started their
family in Canada. She loved gardening, cooking, and reading books to her kids. She loved to
learn. She also enjoyed a great story and could spin a good tale herself.
As time passed her mental health deteriorated and I watched disease replace this vibrant
woman with suspicious thoughts and an altered perception of reality. With the help of many
people and different agencies Lynn Dee remained safe and well cared for.
I would like to express my deep and sincere gratitude to Jennifer, Coconino County Public
Fiduciary, Kelly, hospice nurse at Youngtown skilled care facility, disability attorney, Irene Barrow esq,,Flagstaff Emergency Physicians, men and women of Coconino County Sheriff's
Department, Flagstaff Police Department, The Guidance Center, Southwest Behavioral Health
and many others too numerous to name.
Lynn is survived by her two children, James Boer (Crystal French, Ashley French) and Sharysse
Boer, grandchildren Kroalun and Surissa Boer, her mother, Darlene (Kontz) Johnson and her
sisters,Bonnie (Kontz) Goedecke (John Goedecke), Shelly (Kontz) Salmon (Andy Salmon) and
