Marjorie Lindsay Obituary

Marjorie " Jane " Lindsay passed away peacefully on November 12th at the age of 94 in Tucson where she and Lex had lived since 1980. They were the proud parents of four daughters, Debbie, Pam, Caroline and Judi.
Jane was born in Colorado Springs on March 26, 1931. She attended the University of Denver and graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. It was there that she met and married Lex, the love of her life and husband of 64 years.
After giving birth to Debbie in Ft. Riley, Kansas (Lex was serving in the Korean war) the young family moved to Tucson where Pam was born, and Jane completed her master's degree in Spanish at the University of Arizona. In 1958, they moved to Flagstaff where Caroline and Judi were born. The family spent many wonderful years there, filled with great memories.
Teaching was Jane's passion for more than 20 years. She was also an active member of P.E.O. (a women's education and service organization) for many years. Jane taught Spanish to Junior High students as well as English as a Second Language to Spanish speakers. She also learned the Navajo language and taught Spanish and ESL to Native American students.
Jane is survived by her daughters Pam (OK) Caroline (Ed) and Judi (Sean) 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She danced through the gates of heaven to join her husband Lex, her brother Jarry and her oldest daughter Debbie. Her smile, laughter and caring nature will be remembered by all of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church in Tucson at 11:00 a.m. on January 17th.

To Pam, Caroline, and Judi,

So sorry to hear of your mother`s passing. She was such a big part of my childhood at the ditch pool and learning to swim in that cold water at 6 o´clock in the morning. She´s was such a beautiful kind woman with a beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing her with all of us kids that grew up with you all in Flagstaff. My sincere condolences to you all. May God turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Love and prayers,

Jane was one of the kindest people we have ever met. We never heard her say a bad word about anyone, and she left such a legacy with her students, dear friends and extended family.
May we all be as kind, considerate, loving and thoughtful as Jane! She left the world a better place because of her contributions and presence!

Mrs Lindsay was my favorite teachers! I had her for my second and third year Spanish. We went on a field trip to Nogales. May you find comfort in our Lord Jesus as you travel the journey of grief.
