Martha Ann Glaspie of Flagstaff passed away on February 12, 2018 in Flagstaff, Arizona following a short battle with cancer. Martha was born in Williams, Arizona on August 15, 1936 to Omar and Lewis Whalen. She is the youngest of 5 children; all who preceded her in death.
Martha married Charlie Glaspie on December 19, 1953 and together the raised 4 children. They lived all over Northern Arizona; Williams, Page, Fredonia most of their time was spent living on the family homestead in Winonia.
Martha was a busy and talented woman working and volunteering in many ways. In the 1960's Martha worked in the Flagstaff Hospital, for 40 years she was a 4-H leader. She worked in the family feed stores, operated a pet store with her daughter in Page. During her time in Fredonia she served as EMT for the Fire Department and was a Deputy Marshall. She loved to craft, she was part of a Navajo Rug Weaving group, oil painting classes and participated in the relief society quilting groups through the years.
Most of all Martha loved her family. She and Charlie enjoyed traveling the state supporting kids and grandkids. She looked forward to all the reunions each year and loved to share all the great times with all she loved.
Martha is survived by her husband, Charlie, Sons Ernie Glaspie of Flagstaff, Kenny (Lynnie) Glaspie of Flagstaff, Ronnie (Kathy) Glaspie of Safford and daughter Beth (Mike) Talbot of Young. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren and 18 Great-Great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2018 from 6-8pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, as well at Saturday from 9-9:45 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Linda Vista Building. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. with burial concluding services at Citizens Cemetery.
