Obituary – Sophia Weiss

Sophia Osorio Weiss

3/9/1964 – 9/12/2020

Heaven unexpectedly gained a new angel on the evening of 9/12/2020. Sophia Weiss was born in El Paso, Texas on March 9, 1964 to Daniel and Leonor Osorio while Daniel proudly served in the United States military. Sophia spent her days of youth in the small Northern Arizona towns of Flagstaff and Sedona – enjoying a rich childhood surrounded by loving family and friends. During her school years she loved choir and drama club – Sophia had a knack for making others laugh early on. She graduated from Coconino High School in 1982.

Sophia was married and raised three beautiful daughters. She was also blessed with eight precious grandkids. All who were the light of her life, joy to spoil, and just spend time with. Sophia spent the last several years touching lives and making a difference at Flagstaff High School.

Sophia was an incredibly generous and loving person. She would help anyone in need without a moment's hesitation or crack a joke at her own expense to make them laugh. She enjoyed camping, spending time with family and friends and caring for her pets. She had a unique personality and way doing things and was the life of the party wherever she went. She was kind and generous to all in her path.

Sophia was a woman of Faith. She believed with all her heart in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior His amazing grace and resurrection. Sophia was taken from us all so suddenly and far too soon. We wish we could all keep enjoying her company. Sophia thanks for always making us laugh. Your spirit and memory will always live on.

She is survived by her Husband Bill Weiss, Daughters and Son-in-Laws Olivia and Sam Mallon, Marissa and Victor Valenzuela, Savanna Weiss and eight grandchildren. Also, Parents Daniel and Leonor Osorio, brothers Abel Osorio, Adam Osorio, sister Sylvia Goldberg and many nieces and nephews. Many loving friends who were always family to her.

To our heavens the gates opened & the light's have our Lords grace from within brought her to his kingdom! her earthly world was left behind with loving memories of a full life or happiness and joy & sometimes sorrow that would help her & all surrounding her grow in a positive fashion-!! To our brother Daniel her father a great man of the Lord & a loving father friend. As children my father would take us to their home in Sedona on occasion to visit & partake from the their great hospitality-!! Brother Daniel I also like to remind him that I have his old 1963 red international pick up truck that my dad purchased from him ( That I still own )-!! I also have invited him to go & visit Mexico and enjoy some solitude with his wife Eleanora-! ! I returned home & spoke to him at church of my journeys & asked him of his journey; I had spoken with him & he told me he had went to Mexico to assist in building homes for the less fortunate-!! I was very joyful of Mr. Osorio's caring & love for others-! This he instilled in his family as did my parents from the great days of true love for thy neighbor-!! The children carried this in their hearts & in their great wisdom instilled onto his children-!! This is how a family should be, especially with so much negative in this world-!! God Bless to all of the family friends to Able the big brother whom I played football with at Coconino High School-I always ask Mr. Osorio about Able & he says he's still in Virginia, God Bless you Able- !! From Andy Fernandez & family -Amen-& we know she is resting in peace watching over us- Amen-!!!

Awwwww dear Sophie. Our hearts break that you are gone so soon but we know that the heavens rejoiced and you walked into the arms of Jesus. We have so many memories together as we did ministries alongside each other. Were neighbors. Raised our kids and grandkids together. Camped together. We were family. So many laughs. You were one of a kind. Touched so many lives with your big heart. Rest In Peace. Youre going to be missed but your life lives on in our hearts. God bless your family and friends with peace
