Alice Periera Obituary

ALICE MARIE (MUNOZ) PERIERA

September 12, 1944 - August 21, 2021

Alice Marie (Munoz) Periera was 76 years old when she passed away at home on Saturday, August 21, 2021. She was born in Bakersfield, California on September 12, 1944 to Apolinar and Maria Munoz. She was the youngest and last surviving of her 15 siblings. She loved her brothers and sisters with all of her heart. Having them over to watch the fights on Friday nights, while cooking for them was something she loved to do.

Alice lived her life in Bakersfield with her husband of 49 years Stan Periera. Together they raised a blended family of five boys: David and Richard Easton, Terry Benson and Donny and Jeff Periera. Together they have 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She loved to shop and go to lunch with her friends anytime she could. She was blessed with many good friends in her life, some of those friendships lasting over 50 years. She was a great cook and well known in her circle for her famous Chili Verde, Rice and Beans (if you know - then you know).

Wife, Mother, Mother-in-law, Nana, Sister, Auntie and friend. We will miss you. Thank you for all the love, support, friendship, guidance and sacrifice you have given and made over your life.

Rest In Peace, you will be missed.

Rosary will be held on September 9th at 6:00pm, at Basham-Hopson, 620 Oregon Street Bakersfield, CA. 93305. Mass will be on September 10th at 10:30am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 601 East California Ave, Bakersfield, CA. Burial to directly follow Mass at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA. 93306.

I am heartbroken over the passing of Alice she was a very dear friend and she will truly be missed. All the memories of working together at Albertson in bakery department being our demo person and our friendship over 30+ years and coming over for that good Chile Verde you made. Rest In Heaven Alice always forever in my heart, I love you and will miss you.

Alice Munoz was like a sister to me and my brothers. My mom and dad, Mary and Charlie, thought of her and treated her as if she was their own daughter. Alice was truly a beautiful lady in every sense of the word. And funny? She would keep us all in tears with her humor and her quick wit. She and my oldest brother Charlie were very close friends and when he passed away in 2001, she and Jobie travelled to San Bernardino to join our family for his military burial. Regrettably, that's the last time I saw my sweet "sister" Alice. I love you Alice. Rest In Peace in Heaven with the rest of the Contreras clan.

My condolences to the family. It was my pleasure to have known Alice all of these years, starting when we met on Hasti Acres/Summertree Lane. Played bunco together for years, she taught me how to make Chili Verde. I still have my handwritten instructions. She will be missed. Prayers to the family.
