Bakersfield Andra Renee Marion was born in Bakersfield, California on January 28, 1960, to JC and Donna Warneke, and later was joined by her brother Derek in 1963. Growing up, her family spent lots of time together camping, traveling and vacationing at their cabin. Family traditions were important, whether it was having dinner together every evening or watching the Brady Bunch every Thursday night. Andra was very close with her family and so resembled her father. She attended Colonel Nichols Elementary, Chipman Junior High, and graduated from Highland High School in 1978.

After school, she worked in retail and shared an apartment with a friend and enjoyed the single life until she met and married Anthony Tony Marion in July of 1983. Together they welcomed their two daughters, Courtney and Jordan. Although they divorced in 1997, they continued to co-parent successfully.

Andra was the office manager at T&C Builders and later worked with her girlfriends at Curl Talk, a local beauty salon, where she was able to not only help around the shop but also visit with all the patrons. Andra's favorite job, however, was being a mother. She helped in their classrooms, participated with Girl Scouts, shuttled to and from sports events, dance classes, and other activities. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her girls. Her dedication to her children made a lasting impression on them, making her passing especially hard.

If anyone truly knew her, they knew that she kept an immaculate home and was happiest when sitting in a freshly cleaned house that smelled of Pine Sol with perfect vacuum lines. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with close friends, and decorating. Andra never met a stranger and had an infectious laugh that could be heard before she entered any room.

She developed a neurocognitive disorder at the age of 58 that robbed her of the life she had always known. She later was diagnosed and ultimately passed away from breast cancer.

Even though she was told her condition would continue to decline, she never feared what the future held. She also never lost her sense of humor and was quick to catch people off guard with her wit. She was the best mother, daughter, sister and friend. She wore her heart on her sleeve and always remained her authentic self.

She was preceded in death by her father, JC Warneke. Andra is survived by her mother, Donna Warneke; her daughters and sons-in-law, Courtney and Augustin Moreno Jr., and Jordan and Justin Taylor; her grandchildren Morgan, Micah, Ensley, Ava and Evan; her brother and sister-in-law, Derek and Julie Warneke of Reno, NV; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10:00am, at Shafter Memorial Park, 18662 Santa Fe Way.
