Bob Vignolo Obituary

Bob Vignolo, 77, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 27, 2015 in Bakersfield. Bob was born to Caesar and Jane Vignolo in Bakersfield, California on August 17, 1938.
Bob grew up in Shafter, California where he went to local schools then attended Menlo High School in Atherton, and participated in many equestrian activities including harness racing. Bob graduated from USC in 1960 where he earned a business degree and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. After college, he continued taking agricultural courses at UC Davis until he began his lifelong career as a Central Valley farmer in 1962.
Bob was born and raised a farmer and was passionate about his family farming operation. He enjoyed working with his sons and looked forward to his grandchildren coming into the business.
When not at the ranch, Bob's love of history and travel took him to places all around the world. He also enjoyed taking his grandchildren on trips to Europe and several historical sites in the United States. At age 75, Bob skied with his grandchildren in Aspen with tremendous energy and vitality.
Bob is survived by his four children, John Vignolo and his wife Gail Vignolo, Stephen Vignolo and his wife Patty Vignolo, Melinda Dixon and her husband Brett Dixon, Mark Vignolo and his wife Susan Vignolo, his sister Susan Balfour and her husband Skip Balfour, his seven grandchildren, and his niece and nephews.
A private service was held for Bob at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mayo Clinic Foundation (www.mayoclinic.org/giving-to-mayo-clinic) or a charity of your choice.
