Brooke Adele Trybul passed away peacefully in her home on April 21, 2024 in Bakersfield at the age of 76. Brooke was born on April 17, 1948 to Paul and Patricia Eagleson, the second of their eight children.

Growing up in La Cresta was fun, with four sisters and three brothers, lots of friends and neighborhood parties, family vacations visiting relatives in Louisiana, and summers in Carpinteria.

Brooke attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, and graduated Garces Memorial High School in 1966 and UCSB in 1970, where she studied English and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After raising her four children, she went back to school for her teaching credential. She loved teaching and was loved by her students.

Brooke was a food and wine enthusiast, hosting many family dinners through the years. Celebrating her 70th birthday with family at The French Laundry was a special memory. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, the Dodgers, and golf.

A devoted mother, Brooke was very involved in her children's activities during their school years, volunteering for fundraisers and serving as president of St. Francis PTO. She also enjoyed working on Garces class reunions, maintaining lifelong friendships with her classmates. She was a long-time member of St. Francis Parish and the Friends of Mercy. She volunteered as a Cuddler at the Memorial Hospital NICU, and kept up friendships with many former students.

Brooke loved to travel - Disneyland with her grandchildren, Europe with her sisters, January in Carpinteria, spring in Sonoma, and summer trips to Georgia.

She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Patricia Eagleson, sisters Beverly Champlin and Barbara Nickell, brothers Philip Eagleson and Joseph Eagleson, and daughter-in-law Anna Trybul.

She is survived by sons Philip Trybul (Tami), Donnie Trybul, daughters Katie Mauldin (Jason), Beth Devahl (Greg), grandchildren Savannah Mauldin and Nathan Devahl, sisters Lynn Ward and Mary Lewis, brother John Eagleson, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 1, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church, 900 H Street, followed by graveside at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd.

Brooke lived a full and rewarding life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Paragraph
