Celia Sanchez Padilla passed away September 28, 2007 in Bakersfield. Recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., October 4, 2007, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 E California Ave. Bakersfield with Interment immediately following at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd. Celia, a homemaker, was born April 26, 1927 to Juan and Angela Sanchez in Colorado City, Texas. Celia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking big meals, and playing cards with her children. She instilled great work ethics and encouraged everyone to reach their potential. She will be greatly missed. Celia is survived by her daughters, Angela and husband, Danny Perez of Bakersfield, Ilda and husband, Ruben Orozco of Lamont, Delia and husband, Donicio Abarquez Jr. of Lamont; sons, Jose Padilla Jr. and wife, Delma of Odessa, Texas, Manuel Padilla and wife, Maria of Lamont, Miguel Padilla and wife, Ilene of Bakersfield and Fidel Padilla and wife, Imelda of Bakersfield; sisters, Amelia Jauregui and Manuela Trevino; brothers, Celedonio Sanchez and Emilio Sanchez; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Celia is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Rubio Padilla; sister, Elva Terrazas and brother, Juan Sanchez Jr. Celia Sanchez Padilla Apr. 26, 1927 - Sept. 28, 2007
