Christina Shepherd Obituary

Christina Marie Shepherd April 16, 1966 - August 4, 2011 On August 4, 2011, Tina Marie Shepherd passed away in her home after a 14 month battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends at her bedside. She was born and raised in Bakersfield and a graduate of Bakersfield High School and also attended Bakersfield College. She is survived by her mother, Linda Shepherd, father Louis Shepherd, step-mother, Jodi, daughters, Jennie Walker (Jed), Cara Bunyard, Amie Phillips and brother Ray Shepherd. Grandchildren Emily Walker, Ainsley Walker. Preceded in death by her sister Donna Shepherd. Also, many uncles and aunts and extended family. Tina was a free spirit with a passion for NASCAR. She attended many races all over the country. She loved spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren as well as fishing. The family would like to thank her many friends and family that stayed by her side during this most difficult time. Special thanks to Miriam Baker, Uncle Rick, Tricia Shepherd and her many friends that traveled far and some across the country to be with Tina. Thank you so much Team Odyssey Hospice for the loving care provided to Tina. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Tina's name to Odyssey Hospice, 5001 E. Commercenter Dr., Suite 140, Bakersfield, CA 93309. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA. A Celebration of life will be held immediately following services for Tina at the home of Ray and Tricia Shepherd. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. www.bakersfield.com/obits

Christina was one of a kind! Soo full of life, with her great smile and laughter! We would talk alot when she would come to Chevron for her morning coffee! So sorry that she suffered with Cancer! But she will live on! God Bless her girls! She loved them soo much! I will miss you,Till we met again!

Dearest Linda,
We met you and Tina in 2006 at the Charlotte NC NASCAR Race. What a great time we had! We will never forget how the two of you took us race virgins under your wings and showed us the ropes. It's been wonderful staying in touch with you ladies all these years. You will always be in our hearts and prayers. We miss you already Tina. RIP.
