CONNIE WAYNE OGDEN

May 3, 1940 - July 10, 2021

Connie Wayne Ogden was born on May 3, 1940 in Mesa, Arizona to Hubert and Nellie Ogden. He grew up in the Lamont/Arvin area. He attended Arvin High School where he met the love of his life, Patricia Madison. They were married August 1, 1959. Connie was drafted into the United States Army where he honorably served his country until 1962.

Connie and Patricia made their home in Bakersfield where they raised their 4 children. Connie worked in construction specializing in concrete for many years where his legacy lives on through his sons and grandsons. He was later married to Barbara McGowan until her passing in 2012.

Our Dad loved the outdoors, boating, fast cars, the mountains, guns and his greatest joy was his horses.

Dad passed away on July 10th at home with his 4 children by his side. He was a brave man who fought his illness with great courage in order to spend more time with his family.

Connie is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Nellie, Patricia Ogden, Barbara McGowan and his sisters, Shirlee Ogden and Elaine Penermon.

He is survived by his 4 children and their spouses, Nancy and Randy Dudley, Steve and Shelli Ogden, Mike and Shelley Ogden and Gerald and Cindy Ogden, as well as his 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, brother, Leroy Williams and wife Marie, sisters, Janet Marek, Barbara Allard, Sharon Reeves and husband Grady and life long friend Denver Adams also known as Uncle Vess. Pallbearers: Joshua Ogden, Jared Ogden, Jacob Ogden and Matt Womack.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Friday, July 23rd at 3:00 pm at Iron Lily Venue, 424 24th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301. There will be a private burial at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.
