DAVID JOHN TAYLOR
February 19, 1946 - January 8, 2021

David John Taylor was born February 19, 1946 in England, to Louise Hays and John A. Taylor. He left this world to be in a better place, on January 8th„ 2021, David resided in Bakersfield, California with his wife Delores Taylor.- He went to school in England and went into an internship at a well know jewelry store. In the 1960's he came to the USA aboard the Queen Mary I ship. Soon after his arrival David was told he was subject to the draft. He took the test to join the Navy which he passed and was sent to Texas. His basic training was completed in San Diego, California.. and ne was assigned to the Midway Aircraft Carrier. David served many years and was honorably discharged, relocating near Powell, Wyoming. He worked for Safeway Stores for many years in different staff positions ranging from store clerk, vegetable area manager, and store auditor_ He went on from there to attend Wyoming Technical Institute earning an AA and BA degree. David was assigned to Port Hueneme in a position with the Federal Government as a Ship Auditor for twenty-three years, up to his retirement.

David and I, were able to travel to Hawaii twice and to his birth home of England, where we enjoyed a cruise on the Queen Mary II, and enjoyed many wonderful years together.

David is survived by his wife of thirteen years„ Delores Taylor Bakersfield, CA); Daughter.. Julie Fritchen {Maryland); Daughter, Melissa Taylor (Oxnard, CA); Granddaughter, Taylor Rose Fritchen (Maryland); Brother, Ron Taylor, Wife, Pat (England); Sister, Jean Harding, Husband, Tony deceased (Santee, CA); Step-daughter, Dionna Harper and Husband, Elmer (Hanford, CA); Step-son, Anthony Howard (Bakersfield, CA); 6 Step-Grandchildren; 4 Step-Great Grandchildren. He had many nieces and nephews. He was blessed with many lifelong friends.

David was preceded in death by his loving son, David M. Taylor and Sister Joyce Campbell (Jim Campbell).

He attended Church on the Way Ministries (Pastor, Vernon Chambers, Wife, Sue Chambers). He will be laid to rest in the Bakersfield Veterans Cemetery, January 26, 2021 at 1:15 P.M. Pastor,. Vernon Chambers will Officiate the services.

David was a good man, enjoyed knowing him. He took good care of out little dog “Gurtie” while we went on our 50th anniversary cruise to Alaska “ RIP David!
