GERALD "JERRY" L. MOORE
October 29, 1935 - February 4, 2019
Gerald was born in Long Beach, CA to Walter and Margaret Moore.
At the age of one year, he moved to Bakersfield due to his dad's job with Mohawk Oil. Attending local schools, Jerry was a graduate from BHS in 1954. He soloed on the piano with the Bakersfield Philharmonic Orchestra. He married Carol Lackey from Taft in which they had a son and daughter. When working in accounting for Cal-Cat Corp, his family was transferred to El Centro where he remained after several years of marriage had dissolved. He served on the Imperial Water District board for several terms and served as Chairman for two terms. In 1985 he married the former Joan Cragg and during his retirement years they enjoyed traveling to many places, Hawaii being their favorite.
Jerry passed away in Imperial Hospital after a three year illness in which Joan's daughter and husband, Pam and Leroy Molde helped considerably taking care of his needs.
He is survived by his wife Joan, brothers Melvin and wife Barbara, Walter and wife Sue, son Robert and daughter Donna.

Jerry and Gordon were members of the Kiwanis Club, the Los Vigilantes, the Navy League, and our traveling club Krumi Tours Ink. I could tell stories about all the good times and laughs we had together over the years in El Centro. He was a very good man, always there to help when times were tough. May he rest in peace.

To Melvin and Walt and families, our sincere condolences. Tried to find addresses to write but no luck. We had many good years of friendship in the Valley and we will remember all the fun times we had together.
